Cephalanthus occidentalis Buttonbush. Native shrub found growing in wet areas in the Eastern and Southern United States. Perfectly round white blooms in mid-summer are loved by pollinators.

Mature size: 5-7 feet tall, but taller in a consistently wet site.

Midsummer blooms are fragrant and shaped in a perfect sphere. Round ball shaped flowers delight children and attract butterflies and other pollinators.

Thrives in wet sunny spots.

Needs regular water and full or part sun.

Loves a wet boggy site.

Hardy: USDA Zones 4-10.

*Leafs out late. Often appears dead until mid-May, depending on the arrival of consistently hot weather.
