Star-shaped blooms. Evergreen leaves have aroma of anise when crushed. Deer resistant. This is not the culinary anise and not a a substitute for the edible anise.

Florida Anise is a threatened species and is protected. These plants are nursery cultivated and not dug in the wild.

Florida Anise needs partial shade or full shade and regular water. Can be grown in full sun at the edge of water of a pond, lake, creek, or stream or any constantly damp site.

Star-shaped blooms are unusual and exotic-looking.
