Rhododendron prunifolium. Plumleaf Azalea or Plum Leaf Azalea. Deciduous native species rhododendron. Bright orange red blooms in mid to late Summer. Made famous by Callaway Gardens. Blooms are not fragrant, but this rare shrub is prized for its vivid blooms which come in July and August, a time when blooms are scarce in the garden. Very rare. Plumleaf Azalea naturally occurs only within a few counties of Alabama and Georgia. Likes a cool shady spot. No direct sun.Gallon plant. Price includes delivery.
