Rosa Chinensis Mutabilis is usually referred to as the Mutabilis Rose, Butterfly Rose, or simply as the China Rose.

Mutabilis Rose is a shrub rose that blooms nonstop from Spring to Fall.

An antique rose, the Mutabilis Rose was first introduced into the United States in the 1800's.

In addition to continuous blooms, this China Rose has flowers that change colors and the shrub has flowers of 3 different colors all on the same bush. It is for that reason that the Mutabilis Rose is also called the Butterfly Rose. The blooms stand on the tip of the stems giving the appearance of butterflies fluttering around the shrub.

Blooms: Single petals open yellow, but change to orange, pink, and then crimson, with all colors displayed on the plant at the same time.

Foliage: Evergreen. Possibly semi-evergreen in colder climates.

Very easy care rose. No spraying required. No mildew, no diseases.

Mature Size: 6 feet x 6 feet.

Water needs: Water twice weekly the first year, but then this rose will be drought tolerant.

Thorns: very few.
