Blooms: Purple cascading bloom in Spring and again in late summer on new growth, so can be pruned anytime without loss of flowers.

Uses: Can be grown on a trellis or arbor or trained as a tree form.
Moisture Requirements: Drought tolerant once established.
Mature size: Will climb to 40 feet, but easily contained with pruning. Lovely when grown as tree form. To do that, just prune back to the central stalk each winter.
Site: Full sun or part shade. Light shade is best in the deep South and Soutwestern states.
